Listen: Katy Perry - Teenage Dreams (Single)

Here is Katy Perry's second single called 'Teenage Dreams'. This is the title track of her upcoming sophomore album and is a completely different track from her first single. That doesn't necessarily mean that the track is not as good though. So California Gurls was a huge success and was such a catchy tune. But what is this like?
This track may not be as catchy and I must admit that I was underwhelmed after first listen. But after hearing it a few times, I must say that it is quite a stomper. It is already racking up masses of airplay on the radio, so I can smell another hit coming on...Check it out below:

Ke$ha And Katy Perry Mashup

It has sparked controversy that ke$ha's 'Tik Tok' and Perry's 'California Gurls' sound similar. Well to make matters worse and to supposedly prove a point, someone has mashed up both songs to show how similar they both are.
To be honest, they do sound very similar when you actually put the songs together, but its up to you to give your opinion on the similarities.

Check it out below and let me know your thoughts:

Watch: Katy Perry's 'California Gurls' Video

Check out the amazing 'California Gurls' video from Katy Perry. The video also features Snoop Dogg, some yummy looking gummy bears and much more. The video is candy filled and looks good enough to eat. The video is actually really amazing and really funny. Watch out for the red gummy bear who swears at Katy within the first 30 secs.
Then also keep you eyes peeled for a naked Katy laying on the clouds. WOW. And then for the finale, you will be spoilt silly with a little creamy fun. Definitely a wicked video that needs to be seen. ENJOY!

Katy Perry Clears Up Lady Gaga 'Alejandro' Video Diss

Do you remember the post about Katy Perry hitting out at Lady Gaga's Alejandro video, posting the following message on her Twitter:
“Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke,”
Well, she was asked about this particular tweet during an interview on a French radio station. Check what she had to say on the matter:

So, she claims that it wasn't aimed at Gaga. I'm not bothered whether it was aimed at her or not. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And tbh, I love Gaga but this video was just going a bit too far and looked awful.

Katy Perry's 'California Gurls' Hits #1

Katy Perry definitely has something to smile about, as her first single, 'California Gurls' from her upcoming sophomore album 'Teenage Dreams' has just achieved the top spot on the US Hot 100 chart.
It seems that Katy achieved the top spot after gaining strong digital sales of 318k. The song has now sold over a million and has been certified Platinum. It has also done well in other countries as it has achieved a few top 10's, and 5's.

This is great news, and I think Katy deserves it. This song is a complete smash and I am still listening to it. I still haven't got sick and tired of it, and this is the first time I have been so into Katy's music.

What do you think of Katy's chart performance? Comment below :)

Katy Perry Gives Thoughts On Lady Gaga's 'Alejandro' Video

California Gurls (feat. Snoop Dogg)It seems that Katy Perry doesn't really like Lady Gaga's new video for 'Alejandro'. Katy took to her twitter account to post the following message:
“Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke,”
It's obvious that this is aimed at the Gaga video, as Gaga is seen as being dressed as a nun and various other religious references are seen in the video.

What do you guys think about this then?

For all those Katy Perry fans, it has just been revealed that Katy Perry will be hosting and performing on the Teen Choice Awards 2010. The awards will be on 8th August. Katy took to Twitter to tell her fans the news:

MTV Movie Awards 2010 Performances

So to kick back into things we have some exciting performances from the MTV Movie Awards 2010 from last night. I have performances from Christina Aguilera and Katy Perry - but how did they fare?

'Katy Perry & Snoop Dogg - California Gurls'

This performance was absolutely amazing. Katy sports blue hair which I love and this song is such a hit. I really hope it does well for her. Never have been a massive fan, but this has launched my interest even further. The addition of Snoop Dogg reall helps the mix aswell. The vocals were really good and the performance was really fun to watch. I love the bit with the beach balls at the end which turned it into a right party!

'Christina Aguilera Medley - Bionic/NMT/Woohoo'

Christina actually really killed it on this one. I was really looking forward to this and was not disappointed. I love Woohoo and was glad there was a bit of that included. But overall the performance was really good and at the end we was even treated with a little suprise love heart  - make sure you check it out.

Please do let me know of your thoughts about these performances. Use the comments section below :)
