Beyoncé: Dangerously In Love Era

As part of Beyoncé being February's artist of the month, I am continuing with posting about the different eras of Beyoncé's career.
I have talked about the whole of her Destiny's Child days, so I am now onto the Dangerously In Love era. This era occurred whilst Destiny's Child went on hiatus.
So, in June 2003, Beyoncé released her debut solo album titled "Dangerously In Love".

This album featured quite a few collaborations and varied between uptempos, mid-tempos and slow songs.
The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and sold 317,000 copies in its first week.

The album spawned four singles, "Crazy In Love", "Baby Boy", "Me, Myself And I" and "Naughty Girl", two of which achieved #1.

She achieved massive success by picking up 5 grammy awards for her solo effort. These were for:
"Best Female R&B Vocal Performance - Dangerously In Love 2"
"Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal - The Closer I Get To You"
"Best R&B Song - Crazy In Love"
"Best Contemporary R&B Album"
"Best Rap/Sung Collaboration - Crazy In Love"

Here are two videos to sign this era off. They are live videos taken from her first solo Wembley concert:

No Tour For The Saturdays This Year :(

That's right! The Saturdays have ruled out a UK tour for 2010. I was told the other day that they were planning to tour, and now I have information which proves differently.
According to DigitalSpy, the girls have ruled out doing a tour this year, because they are really busy.
Rochelle Wiseman told The Daily Star:
"We badly want to do a tour, but we've got a lot of things to do, so it's about fitting it in with Asia and Europe.
We wanted an arena tour last year but you have to come up in stages. Last year's small theatre tour was much more personal. We had been supporting other people, so it was refreshing."
I am really disappointed with this news, as I wanted them to go on tour like they did last year. I would have tried to get tickets as I went to their first tour (last year) and had a really good time.
If you haven't checked out my post about The Saturdays work tour then check it out: 100TH POST - 24/7's Featured Artists: The Saturdays!!

Survivors Series 2 Episode 3 & 4 Reviews

So I missed out last weeks review of Survivors. But since episodes 3 and 4 kinda work together, I thought I would review them together. It kinda felt like a movie with these two episodes as they linked together really well. The first of the two episodes (ep. 3) was pretty good and left off with a kind of cliffhanger.

The episode finishes where it left off, and sees the whole group reunited after Abby finds them. The whole episode revolves around Samantha and her idea of imprisonment. Towards the end of the episode Greg and Tom end up being imprisoned in a coal mine. I do not want to go into the ins and outs of the third episode as quite a lot happened and its hard to remember. Plus I don't want to spoil it for those who may not have seen it.

Anyways, the fourth episode lifts off from the end of the third and revolves all around the coal mining place where many survivors have been rounded up and turned into slaves. This episode has quite a lot of action as well, and quite a lot happens so I won't go into it too much. But the ending was very good, and sets the last two episodes up nicely.

I can't believe the series has gone this quick already and that the final two episodes are here. I actually am excited to see the rest and hope that the BBC don't pull the plug on this series. Anyways here is a clip from the next episode airing next Tuesday at 9PM on BBC One.

24/7 Recommends...

So as I said a few days ago, I would be doing a new feature. So here goes...
24/7 Recommends...

Sabrina Washington "OMG"

Fantasia "Even Angels"

So, I recommend these two songs! I wanted to recommend just one song, but I honestly can't choose between them. They are a nice combination of songs as one is uptempo and the other is more slow paced.

What songs do you recommend?
