UPDATE: The Saturdays Collaborate With Flo Rida!

The Saturdays recently went on a trip to LA. It is unclear of exactly what they were doing there. They had some meetings and were apparently filming. It also seems that whilst they were there, they got Flo Rida to collaborate with them on one of their tracks. It is not know which track that Flo Rida will be featured on yet, but it has been specualted to be their next single, Higher. More news will become available once I have it.

What do you think of this news? I actually can't wait to see what this will sound like but I sincerely hope this gets them a #1 hit!

*UPDATE: It has been confirmed that Flo Rida will feature on the single version of 'Higher' which has a unconfirmed release date of September 27th!

Album Review: The Saturdays - Headlines

Back to normal-ish now and back with another album review. So lets crack on. The Saturday released mini album/EP 'Headlines' which is being referred to as their third album. The album contains 8 tracks and has 3 tracks from their 'Wordshaker' album and includes their new single 'Missing You'.
The album is their highest charting album to date gaining a respectable #3 in the UK album chart, but was the album worthy of that position?

Here is my track-by-track review:

Listen: The Saturdays - Headlines (Clips)

The Saturdays are due to release their third album Headlines consisting of 8 tracks on the 16th August. The album will consist of their new single Missing You, plus 3 tracks Ego, Forever Is Over and One Shot (althought it will be a remix on this album) from their previous album Wordshaker. The rest of the tracks are new tracks that have not been heard from the band before. Check out the clips to the new tracks below:

Order of new clips:
1. Higher
2. Died In Your Eyes
3. Karma
4. Puppet
5. One Shot (Starsmith Mix)

The new tracks sound amazing and Higher sounds really good in studio version aswell. They have been performing Higher in most of the Summer shows they have been doing. Died In Your Eyes is a cover of Kristinia DeBarge's version. I really can't wait to get this album now

The Saturdays Perform 'Missing You' On Suck My Pop

Here is the first televised performance of Missing You featuring all 5 members of The Saturdays. They have performed this song on T4 on the beach but only with 4 members due to Mollie being ill. This song is the first single from The Saturdays's mini album 'Headlines'. The song is really good and I hope it does well for the girls. The performance is actually really good aswell and it seems that they are singing live. The performance was for a new show on Viva called 'Suck My Pop!'. The performance is half music video/performance on stage. It is not their official music video but was made for the show. Hope you like and Enjoy!

Upcoming ITV2 Show Based On The Saturdays!

My favourites, The Saturdays have just been confirmed to have their own ITV2 show. Apparently it will be a series and not a one off show. It will follow the five Saturdays, Una Healy, Mollie King, Frankie Sandford, Rochelle Wiseman and Vanessa White as they tour around the country promoting their music and new album.
ITV2 has also confirmed saying that the documentary series will follow the Saturdays...
"In their dressing rooms, at home and on the red carpets. And in each episode the girls will burst into song to perform their latest hits."
I am really looking forward to this show and I hope it will open the public up to see The Saturdays for who they are and how fun they can be. I think it will also hopefully gain more fans as it will show multiple sides of the group.

EXCLUSIVE: The Saturdays 'Headlines' Album Cover + Tracklisting

I have labelled this as an exclusive because I have yet to see this posted anywhere else. The Saturdays have finally revealed the full details of their mini album 'Headlines' via their official Facebook page.
The mini album will be released on August 16th, one week after the release of single 'Missing You'.
The album cover and the tracklisting have both been confirmed and can be found below:

1. Missing You
2. Ego
3. Higher
4. Forever Is Over
5. Died In Your Eyes
6. Karma
7. Puppet
8. One Shot (Starsmith Mix)

The tracklisting shows and confirms that the album will have 3 old tracks; Ego, Forever Is Over and One Shot and will be joined with 5 new tracks, including their first single 'Missing You'.
The tracklisting is slightly disappointing but it is only supposed to be a mini album, so hopefully this does well and then we will get a full album very soon. Either way, new songs from The Saturdays ain't getting any complaints from me.
The album cover on the other hand looks amazing and I definitely think this is their best cover yet. I am glad the old logo is back and that some colour has been injected back into their image.

Professor Green Adds A Verse To The Saturdays 'Missing You'

Newcomer rapper Professor Green has just confirmed via Twitter that he just laid down a verse for the new Saturdays single 'Missing You'. The song has already premiered along with the video minus the rap. So I am wondering if this is just for a remix or for the album version. Who knows?
The version featuring Professor Green has yet to premiere and is supposedly coming very soon. Here is the message that Professor Green posted on his Twitter:
Did my verse for the saturdays... Look out for an alternative version of 'Missing You' ft. Professor Green soooooooon!
I actually like Professor Greens material, so I am eager to see what he has produced for The Saturdays. I actually think it would be a good move to actually release the version with Professor Green as a single as this may spark more interest in The Sats. Of course, I have yet to hear the alternative version, but I still think it could work in their favour.

Watch: The Saturdays 'Missing You' Video

Sorry for posting so little, but I thought I would take time to post the new Saturdays video for their new single 'Missing You' which is the first single taken from their upcoming third album entitled 'Headlines'.
I absolutely love the song and think it is definitely a grower. The video is very summery too and adds to the feel of the song. The girls look absolutely stunning and I cannot wait to see them at one of their summer concerts next month! Check the vid out below:

The Saturdays 'Missing You' Cover + News!!

Here is the single cover to The Saturdays' upcoming new single 'Missing You' scheduled to be released on August 9th. I can see they have gone back to the old logo, which I am happy about. Also, the cover looks amazing and I can see they they have tried to get the colour scheme going again!
It was also revealed that Missing You will be the lead single to an 8-track EP that the girls will release. Apparently the EP will contain the past two singles 'Forever Is Over' and 'Ego' as well as new single 'Missing You' and 5 new tracks!!
I really can't wait for this. It's almost as good as a full new album. Either way I am really excited. More news when it comes available.

The Saturdays Single News

To start the blog up again, I have some great news I couldn't wait to post! Yes, the Saturdays are back again with a new track and I am too excited.
It had been going around for ages that the Saturdays were to release a new single in July. It has now been confirmed (via a mailer from the Sats) that their new single will be:

'MISSING YOU'

It is expected to be released on August 9th!
They have been filming their video in Spain on the beach and here is a photo:

Of course, we have to wait a little while till we hear it but I'm hoping not too long. I have got tickets to see them on July 16th so hopefully we will have heard it by then and I get to see them perform it.

Anyways, please let me know your thoughts using the comments section below. Thank you :)

No Tour For The Saturdays This Year :(

That's right! The Saturdays have ruled out a UK tour for 2010. I was told the other day that they were planning to tour, and now I have information which proves differently.
According to DigitalSpy, the girls have ruled out doing a tour this year, because they are really busy.
Rochelle Wiseman told The Daily Star:
"We badly want to do a tour, but we've got a lot of things to do, so it's about fitting it in with Asia and Europe.
We wanted an arena tour last year but you have to come up in stages. Last year's small theatre tour was much more personal. We had been supporting other people, so it was refreshing."
I am really disappointed with this news, as I wanted them to go on tour like they did last year. I would have tried to get tickets as I went to their first tour (last year) and had a really good time.
If you haven't checked out my post about The Saturdays work tour then check it out: 100TH POST - 24/7's Featured Artists: The Saturdays!!

100TH POST - 24/7's Featured Artists: The Saturdays!!

This is officially the blogs 100th post! I can't believe I am writing this, so what better way to write the 100th post by dedicating it to pop group "The Saturdays". Above is a picture that was taken in HMV when I went to a single signing and I met them - it was great, but was so quick!
I was also lucky enough to go to one of the dates on their first tour "The Work Tour". The tour was so good and much better than I had expected. They showcased two new tracks from their newest album "Wordshaker" as well as performing a medley and lots of songs from their first album. Below are a few pictures that were snapped from the tour. All of these are my own photos so please credit if using - thanks!

For those that don't know who The Saturdays are, I will give you a brief lesson about them now and post a few songs of theirs.
Firstly, the Saturdays are a British Pop Group signed to Fascination Records. They consist of 5 members, Vanessa White, Rochelle Wiseman(From S Club Juniors/8), Frankie Sandford (From S Club Juniors/8), Mollie King, and Una Healy.
They started out in 2007 but their first single "If This Is Love" wasn't released until August 12, 2008. Their debut album, "Chasing Lights" was then released in October 2008 and spawned a total of 5 singles. The first 4 singles ended up in the top 10, some in the top 5 of the UK charts.
Their sophomore album "Wordshaker" was released October 2009 and has spawned two singles which have both made the top 10 of the UK charts. Their current single is "Ego" and is a smash! The video can be seen below:

This post would have been longer but I will be posting about The Saturdays a lot more and this will be random so expect to see the posts and take part in the quiz that will be going up over the next few days!
I leave you with a few songs from The Saturdays which I class as my favourites:

"Deeper"

"Chasing Lights"

"Lose Control"

"Why Me, Why Now"

Also thanks to everyone following the blog, and to those who read and comment, it is much appreciated :)

Vanessa White Is Eliminated From Popstar To Operastar!

So Friday saw Vanessa White from The Saturdays being eliminated from Popstar To Operastar! I knew this was gonna happen - don't ask me how I knew but its kinda like a sixth sense. I really didn't wanna see her go this week as I know she has potential, and as the best vocalist of The Saturdays, this programme definitely showed what she was capable of.
I don't think she deserved to go out the competition this week, but I think multiple factors were the cause of her being eliminated. I am glad that she can now focus on The Saturdays and that she doesn't have to worry about the competition anymore.
Well done Vanessa for getting this far anyway! I will still be watching this week so I will probably keep everyone updated.
For those that missed Vanessa's performance or haven't seen it, you can view it below:

Do you watch this show? What are your views? Do you think Vanessa should have been eliminated?

The Saturdays: Making Of "Ego" Music Video

I found this video a few days ago and thought I would post it. I love the Saturdays and they are 24/7's first featured artists so they will be getting a lot of posts for a little while. So here is a video behind the scenes of making the music video for "Ego". Their personalities are just great and they are so funny. I will post more videos of them soon as I know lots and think they are great. Anyways here it is:

Do you like the Saturdays? What do you think about the video? Do you like "Ego"? Air your views in the comment below :)

Results Of Poll

The results for the second poll have come in...
I asked you all, "Who do you think should be the first featured artist?"
The result is as follows:

In 4th Place with 0% votes are...
Usher/Omarion/Other

In 3rd Place with 10% of the votes each are...
Lady Gaga/Beyonce/Monica/Cassie

In 2nd Place with 20% of the votes was...
Ke$ha

But, in 1st place voted by you all was...
The Saturdays!!!!

I am pleased it was The Saturdays as I have much to write about. Coming up in the next week or so I will have my first featured post and The Saturdays will gain a place on the header of 24/7. So if anyone fancies having a go at creating a header for me, I will be greatly appreciative! Let me know via the chatbox or email.

Extra Note: The poll was not running for that long but nevertheless only a few of you voted. I would like to see more people voting as your vote counts. Remember, it only takes 5 seconds to vote so if you visit please make sure that you do it!

Many thanks - a new poll will be put up soon - Or may be replaced for a little while by something else - I'm not sure just yet! :)

Popstar To Operastar: Vanessa White Just Stays Through The Skin Of Her Teeth!

So here is my last post before I have a break from the blog for a few days. I wanted to get this out the way now as it is fresh in my mind still. The UK TV channel ITV has got a new reality show called "Popstar to Operastar". I, myself, don't usually like this type of music but as the line up was pretty good and Vanessa White from The Saturdays (one of my favourite groups) was appearing on it, I thought it would be worth a watch. The standard was pretty good and amongst my favourites has to be Marcella Detroit, Jimmy Osmond, Bernie Nolan, and of course Vanessa White.
As these stupid UK TV shows are sent to annoy you, it did just that when Vanessa White appeared in the bottom two. There were a lot more worse perfomers and no reason why she should have been there. And to top it off, the judges went to deadlock which meant that she could have easily went home on the first show! However, she got through by the skin of her teeth and will be on next weeks show.
So all those that didn't vote Vanessa better vote her next week, because she definitely has potential and she was not worthy of going home or being it the bottom two. Rant over!
Well it was very good to watch apart from the bottom two, so I will definitely be back watching it next week, so expect to hear more from me.
Anyways I will leave you with this video from The Saturdays which may get the message across to "VOTE VANESSA".

Thanks :)
