Rihanna's New Single 'Cheers' In Less Than 10 Days!

I apologise that I have neglected the blog over the past few months, but I am back and will be posting news and links whenever possible. First, I have some news on the new Rihanna single from her upcoming fifth studio album. The song is now claimed to be called 'Cheers' instead of previous reports of a song titled 'Only Girl'.

Rihanna took to her Twitter page earlier today to report that the new song will be out in less than 10 days! See what she wrote here.

So here is a new feature that either me or Michelle will be bringing when we have news to post. Some times these posts will be added to round up the week's news if it has been a busy week for us or for posting things. So hopefully this will give you an insight to some of the recent going ons. Here I have devised a list of some recent and old news that have cropped up in the entertainment business as of late. Enjoy!

The Saturdays 'Missing You' Cover + News!!

Here is the single cover to The Saturdays' upcoming new single 'Missing You' scheduled to be released on August 9th. I can see they have gone back to the old logo, which I am happy about. Also, the cover looks amazing and I can see they they have tried to get the colour scheme going again!

It was also revealed that Missing You will be the lead single to an 8-track EP that the girls will release. Apparently the EP will contain the past two singles 'Forever Is Over' and 'Ego' as well as new single 'Missing You' and 5 new tracks!!

I really can't wait for this. It's almost as good as a full new album. Either way I am really excited. More news when it comes available.

The Saturdays Single News

To start the blog up again, I have some great news I couldn't wait to post! Yes, the Saturdays are back again with a new track and I am too excited.
It had been going around for ages that the Saturdays were to release a new single in July. It has now been confirmed (via a mailer from the Sats) that their new single will be:

'MISSING YOU'

It is expected to be released on August 9th!
They have been filming their video in Spain on the beach and here is a photo:

Of course, we have to wait a little while till we hear it but I'm hoping not too long. I have got tickets to see them on July 16th so hopefully we will have heard it by then and I get to see them perform it.

Monica 'Still Standing' Reaches #2!!

A congratulations are in order for Monica who sold 184,000 copies of her sixth studio album 'Still Standing' in its first week. She reached a #2 position on the charts being beaten by Justin Bieber who reached the #1 spot selling an impressive 283,000 copies of his album 'My World 2.0'.
I am really pleased that Monica has gained some success with this album because she truly deserves it. It must be hard in the music industry how it is at the moment, as no one can be guaranteed success anymore. So it seems her hard work paid off and she delivered a top class album.
If you have yet to listen to 'Still Standing' then go and check it out now as it is available to buy in most places. I promise it is not a waste!

News: Ciara To Release 'Ride' As New Single

Everyone stop what you are doing! Some great Ciara news has just appeared - she's about to release a new single!

According to Rap-Up.com, Ciara's first single from her fourth studio album will be called 'Ride' and will feature Ludacris!

She has already teamed up with Ludacris a number of times, and they have teamed up again for another hit. The video for the song is supposed to be filmed very soon, and also the song is expected to impact radio stations in the next few weeks.

Argghhh...Can't wait, I really hope that the material is really good as I have liked all of her albums. The fourth album is supposed to be released this Summer, and was executively produced by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart.

As well as news of the first single, two new song titles that could make the album were announced as 'Gifted' and 'Speechless' featuring The-Dream.

So over the past few days, etc. Christina Aguilera has been teasing her fans with 'Big News' nearly every 24 hours. The first big news reveal, was the single title along with the official cover which can be peaked below:

Monica Set To Sell 165-190K!

Some amazing news for Monica - she is expected to sell between 165-190K with her new album 'Still Standing'. This looks to get her a #2 spot on the billboard album charts. Justin Bieber is expected to get #1 with over 200K. A #2 spot is amazing and is such great news for Monica. Its a pity that it will only reach #2 as it could easily have been #1 on a different week, with those type of sales.
In other news, her first single from the album, 'Everything To Me' has finally reached #1 on the Billboards Hot R&B/Hip-Hop song charts.
It seems that Monica is going from strength to strength and that this is indeed a real successful comeback. I am so pleased for her, and wish her well for the future.

News On Lady Gaga's 'Alejandro' Video

So, as you may or may not know, Lady Gaga's next single is 'Alejandro'. There was speculation as to whether the video would be a continuation of Telephone or not. It has since been confirmed by Lady Gaga that it will NOT be a continuation. I suppose this is a good idea, as I can not see how they would link together.

In other news, it is rumoured that Lady Gaga has chosen a director for the video already and that it will be shot very soon. The director she has supposedly chosen is Steven Klein.

Girlicious Member Natalie Mejia Gets Arrested!

It's not going very good for Girlicious at the moment, after their latest single flopped in the charts. Now, one of the groups members, Natalie Mejia has been arrested for allegedly carrying over 12 bags of cocaine.

Apparently, Mejia was a passenger in a car that was pulled up for speeding in California yesterday. The police noticed the bags of cocaine in her Gucci purse and was arrested.

Robin Antin's Official PCD Statement!

Finally, we have got an official statement about PCD's future. Robin Antin, creator of PCD, exclusively told Perez Hilton.com this...

Girlicious News!!

Yes more Girlicious news. I recently reported that their second single was to be called 'Tell Me Lies'. It has now been confirmed by both Robin Antin and Girlcious' manager that their second single will be 'Maniac'. It looks as though a video will not be made for 'Over You' and that they are focusing on this song.
I can't wait to hear this song, as I love these girls so much.

Round 2 In Sugababes Name Fight!

So Round 2 in the Sugababes name fight, and the members of Sugababes 4.0 are confident that they will not have to change their name.

Apparently, the name belongs to the record company they are with already. I do not know if this information is true or not, but there are conflicting reports.

Anyways, it looks like its business as usual for the time being as a spokesperson for the group said;

"The right to use the name Sugababes in connection with all recorded music continues to be under the control of Island Records. Contrary to some recent misleading reports regarding an attempted trademark application from last year, it's business as usual for Heidi, Amelle and Jade."

Oh well, I will report on the next round when something occurs. I would personally love to see the name change happen because I think it would be hilarious and would spell trouble - but I'm just being cruel ;)

Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Coming To DVD!

So according to a variety of reports, Lady Gaga's current tour 'The Monster Ball Tour' will be coming to DVD very soon. I'm not sure how soon, but it best be bloody soon, because I freakin' can't wait. This will totally make up for me not being able to go!
Other news also suggests that it will be in 3D too! This is absolutely mental!

Keisha Buchanan Sues Sugababes!

Very late in posting this again! But I thought I would throw my two cents in and have a rave about this. Firstly, It seems as though Keisha Buchanan is suing the Sugababes over the name usage. As Keisha was very much involved in the creation of the band, and after being shoved out of the band last year, I only see this as being the fair thing to do.
I do not see Keisha as being a bitch or the bully that everyone makes out her to be, and I only see that she is standing up for her rights. Yeah, I think the Sugababes should change name, but it isn't a massive thing. I have no quarrels about the new Sugababes as I very much enjoyed their latest album 'Sweet 7'. Read my review to find out my thoughts.

The Pussycat Dolls - 3 Out, 1 To Go!

As many of you know by now, the current line-up of The Pussycat Dolls has now been whittled down to two members. It looks as if Melody Thornton will be the last to go before a whole new line-up can be revealed. Jessica Sutta was the first to leave the group in 09, followed by Kimberley Wyatt not too long ago. Now it has arisen that Ashley Roberts has quit the group.
So the question remains as to what will happen next and whether PCD could be over. I personally love PCD and don't want to see them gone, but if this means as a revised line-up, then so be it.

Girlicious To Drop A Second Single!

According to Girlicious member, Chrystina Sayers, the group are planning to release a second single and that a video will be shot for it very soon. The song is to be titled 'Tell Me lies'. This has led to confjusion as to whether 'Over You' was in fact a single and why a video was not released for it.
This sounds great as we are getting to hear more material from them, but I don't want this to get mucked up because I would love for them to release worldwide rather than in just Canada.

Ugly Betty Gets Cancelled!!!!

OK, everyone, Ugly Betty has been cancelled by ABC. Damn, I can't believe I have just said those words. Damn you ABC!

So all Ugly Betty fans, the end of the show is in sight and this is very very bad news. I am utterly pissed off with this and can't believe ABC has pulled the plug on another show I am so dedicated to. ABC need to seriously re-think and get their act together.

So, the end of Season 4 which is currently still airing in America will be the last adventures we have with Betty and ABC has said that they have let producers know early so that they can wrap the show up nicely. At least the show will be wrapped up rather than leaving us with a cliffhanger - so that I am glad of.

However, I just can't get my head around the fact that I will not be seeing Betty in the autumn.

I urge all fans to ditch ABC and show your love to Betty.
